Complete User Guide

Everything you need to know to use Lumina Pro effectively in your church. From basic setup to advanced features and troubleshooting.

1. Introduction

Lumina Pro is a professional-grade church presentation software designed for modern worship services. It combines song lyrics projection, Bible integration, media management, and visual effects in a single, intuitive interface.

Key Features:

  • Song Management: Import, organize, and project song lyrics
  • Bible Integration: Upload multiple Bible versions, search scriptures, create playlists
  • Media System: Project images, videos, and overlays with advanced blending
  • Visual Effects: Dynamic text, active line highlighting, background effects
  • Multi-Window Support: Separate controller and projector windows
  • Local Storage: All data saved in your browser (no account needed)

System Requirements

Browser: Chrome 80+, Firefox 75+, Edge 80+, Safari 13+
Resolution: 1280x720 minimum (1920x1080 recommended)
Storage: Local storage enabled (50MB+ free space)
Permissions: Allow popups for projector windows

2. Getting Started

First Launch:

  1. Open Lumina Pro in your web browser
  2. Demo Data: The app loads with sample songs ("Way Maker" and "Amazing Grace")
  3. Interface Layout:
    • Left Sidebar: Song library and search
    • Main Stage: Current song, tabs, and controls
    • Preview Panel: Live preview of projector view
    • Settings Drawer: Visual customization

Saving Your Data:

  • All data is automatically saved in your browser's local storage
  • No login required - everything stays on your computer
  • Data persists between sessions
  • Backup regularly by exporting your songs

Interface Tour

Familiarize yourself with these key areas: Logo Area (top-left), Search Box (filter songs), Song List (with tags and slide counts), Stage Header (current song controls), Tabs (Slides, Bible, Media, Overlays), Filmstrip (slide previews), and Preview (live projector view).

3. Song Management

Adding Songs:

  1. Click the "New Song" button (purple FAB in sidebar)
  2. Manual Entry:
    • Enter Song Title
    • Add Tags (comma separated: "worship, contemporary, praise")
    • Paste Lyrics in the text area
    • Slide Separation: Use blank lines between slides
  3. Import from .txt File:
    • Click "Import from .txt file"
    • Select a text file with lyrics
    • File name becomes song title
    • Blank lines automatically create slides

Example Lyrics Format:

First slide lyrics
Can have multiple lines
Separated by line breaks

Second slide starts after a blank line
This is a new slide

Editing Songs

Currently, editing requires deleting and re-adding songs. This feature is coming in a future update. Use tags for organization: "hymn", "praise", "communion", "advent".

Quick Start Checklist

First Sunday Setup (30 minutes):

Add your songs (at least 5 for service)
Upload Bible version (your church's preferred)
Set up backgrounds (solid color or subtle image)
Test projector connection (second display/projector)
Practice transitions (next/previous/blackout)
Save a backup (export songs if possible)
